Use Case 1 - Use one JSM Project for Multiple Teams
Company Xyz wanted to handle all support tickets using just one JSM portal. This meant that multiple teams would be using the same project and Jira didn’t have the fine-grained control to handle this
Solution
High Level Overview
In JSM projects, teams are assigned different components for their tickets. Watch It leverages these components to send targeted notifications, ensuring teams only receive alerts relevant to their area of interest.
Technical Details
When a ticket is created
ScriptRunner adds a comment with the details of the support ticket.
Each component has specific Watch It Watchers, which send notifications only to the team associated with that component.
The Watch It Watcher detects the new comment and notifies all members of the appropriate team.
Even after the ticket is assigned to a user, all team members continue to receive notifications about any changes.
