Organizations managing access at scale need secure, automated identity processes. A recent update to Atlassian Cloud introduces SCIM provisioning for Jira Service Management portal‑only customers, allowing seamless syncing of user accounts from external identity providers like Okta and Azure AD. Through SCIM 2.0 integration, admins can automatically create, update, and deactivate users based on the identity provider’s directory, reducing manual effort and keeping access controls aligned with enterprise policies. 

Enhanced admin controls also make monitoring and troubleshooting provisioning flows easier. This strengthens security by ensuring that user lifecycle changes (such as account deactivation) are instantly reflected in Jira, reducing stale access and supporting compliance goals.
